Day 1: Upon arrival at La Rioja Airport, we´ll take you to Villa Union, the capital city of Coronel Felipe Varela Department.This city is located in the fertile valley of Bermejo crossed by the Desaguadero River and formed by the Famatina Hill. Main activities are agricultural and tourism. We will arrive at the Pircas Negras hotel or similar. Check-in and accomodation.
Day 2: After breakfast, we´ll depart at 09.00 am to Aicuña a little magic town between Villa Union and Cuesta de Miranda, which is part of the formations of Talampaya National Park. Upon arrival at Aicuña, we´ll have breakfast at Nelly´s house, a resident lady who will make us feel at home with her northern warmth. After breakfast with Nelly, we´ll make a tour around this picturesque town with the Virgen del Rosario panoramic point, learning about local legends and beliefs (medium difficulty walk). We´ll walk the vineyards roads and visit the artisian wineries in Aicuña and a tasting of delicious local wines. After our walk, we´ll return to Nelly´s house to cook with her an exquisite traditional lunch. Later, we´ll head to the ancestral village pottery workshop where Milagros will be waiting to make us live the experience of making our own ceramic crafts. Return to Villa Union. Accomodation at Pircas Negras Hotel or similar.
Day 3: Breakfast at hotel. Departure to La Rioja at 8.00 am. Upon arrival, we´ll check in and leave our luggage at the hotel. Later, we´ll start our ride to Villa Sanagasta. Located only 30 km away from the capital city, this picturesque town stands out in landscape. Its many trees sorrounding vineyards and walnut trees make this place a green valley with very pleasant temperatures year round. We´ll have our lunch at Lomas Blancas Winery and then we´ll walk along the vineyards and plantations. We´ll visit the museum and finish our tour with a tasting of 3 varietals: Torrontés, Malbec and Merlot and served with tray of assorted deli meats.Return to La Rioja at around 5.00 pm. Accomodation at Naindo Park or similar.
Day 4: After breakfast, we´ll meet our guide, who is also the ruler of the Chumbillas Community, at 09.00 am at Naindo Park Hotel to start our tour around the city of La Rioja. Upon our arrival at the community, we´ll share a breakfast which consist of milk with carob and cornmeal with flour of chañar with dulce de leche. We´ll thank Pachamama (Mother Earth) for this new day. After breakfast: we´ll meet the community and participate in an experiential pottery workshop. Then we will visit the center of La Rioja with a description of the ancestral vision of the place and development of the grids. We´ll visit Inca Huasi Museum and have an explanation of the pieces of the culture shown there. Finally we will share a lunch with typical ancestral meals. By the end of this experience, we´ll return to our hotel: Naindo Park or similar.
Day 5: After breakfast at hotel, we´ll depart to the airport for our flight back to Buenos Aires with all flavours, fragances and landscapes from our visit to the province of La Rioja.
